The exhibition Beyond the End of the World was held in Milan from September 20 to October 26, 1997, at the Salone delle Cariatidi in the Palazzo Reale.
The exhibition celebrated the 10th anniversary of Elle magazine and exalted Beard's visionary art through a collection of photographs, newspaper clippings, memos, memoranda, sketches, collages, and recollections of his "Africa-sickness" and his attempt to save the wilderness of this continent corrupted by man's wickedness.
Two hundred and fifty works were exhibited.
